Buying a car is one of the biggest decisions a person will have to make.

It is essential that you prepare yourself and research the cheapest options available. Many newer auto loans will be approved with lower interest rates, rather than high one. This is mainly because the finance company assumes that the buyer will have this car longer, than a used vehicle. They also assume that the customer will make their monthly payments because they don’t want to lose their new car.

Hector Milla Editor of the “Direct Auto Loan Lenders” website — http://www.DirectAutoLoanLenders.com — pointed out;

“…Most of the time a person with good credit will be able to obtain new car financing at a low and sometime zero percent interest rate with no problem. Some people not only qualify for low interest rates, they also can qualify for cash back and other discounts…”

Individuals with bad credit usually can obtain a better interest rate or get approved faster from a financing company, if they are buying a new car rather than a used car. Many financing companies try to stay away from financing used cars because they cost considerably less then a new car and statistically will have more problems then a new car. This means that the finance company will make much less in interest. Many auto loan companies will deny a loan all together if the price of the vehicle is to low for them to make any money.

“…The advantages of purchasing a new car rather than a used car is the ability to have a car that would be easily financed, easily insured and provide you with years of driving pleasure before a big repair is needed. Before you go to the dealership and purchase that new vehicle remember to check your credit score and don’t be surprise if you don’t get a zero percent interest rate, just because the vehicle is new. The interest rate will be based upon your credit and your ability to pay back the loan…” added H. Milla.

Once you determine that you are ready to purchase a new car be prepared to do some research.

Many people buy new vehicles on emotion and should take time to create a plan. Auto Loans can be confusing and dealerships sometimes try to take advantage of people. It is in your best interest to be prepared and have an idea of what you can afford. It is vital to create a budget before you walk onto the car lot. You have many options and should take your time to find something that you can afford.

Hector Milla Editor of the “Direct Auto Loan Lenders” website — http://www.DirectAutoLoanLenders.com — pointed out;

“…It is imperative to find a certified dealer in your local area. You also will want to get the best interest rate that you can. Shop around to several banks and lenders to inquire what their current interest rate is. If you have bad credit then dealerships and banks will still make offers. You must be careful and stay within your budget to avoid something that you cannot afford…”

Many people ask friends and family about their new auto loans. It is a good idea to ask them about their car buying experience. They may refer you to someone that they trust. This will help you to avoid being scammed by dealerships and lenders. It is also important to check with the better business bureau if you are dealing with an unfamiliar new car dealer.

“…Auto loans can be confusing and hard to understand. It helps to do your research and have an exact idea of what you need. This will help avoid emotional mistakes that commonly happen during the new car buying process. Be prepared to negotiate your final price and your trade in value. Most people do not prepare for this and end up paying more than their budget allows. Take time to look into all your options and steer clear of emotional car buying…” added H. Milla.

Undoubtedly you need quality RV insurance if you want a RV. Tailoring your insurance policy to your specific needs ensures that you and your family and friends are protected against any unfortunate situation. As a RVer, there are certain aspects of insurance coverage that you should cover no matter what state you live in or the type of RV you have. Having adequate liability coverage for your RV is crucial, just as it is with your auto insurance. Liability coverage protects you and the people who may be riding in your RV in the case of an accident. It can also do more than that in the case of RVs. If you’re living in your RV, there is a possibility that people may be injured while in the vehicle. Similar to homeowner’s insurance, coverage for vacation liability protects you in case someone is hurt in or around your RV while using the vehicle’s electrical equipment or is injured by a fall. You should definitely have comprehensive and collision coverage. A RV is an automobile like any other on the road in that they are often involved in accidents. If you think about the size and price of most RVs, you know that you could spend thousands of dollars on repairs or replacement. If your RV is involved in an accident or stolen, it’s important to know if your insurance policy provides for you. There are 3 general types of coverage that are based on the value of your RV. Later we’ll explain what these are. If you plan to live in your RV permanently, having full-timer’s insurance is necessary. If you’re using your RV as a full-time residence, a traditional RV policy may not cover you in case of an incident. Medical payments, items kept in storage and personal items that are lost or stolen are all expenses that may be covered by full-timer’s insurance. People who do not have another primary residence should definitely have this coverage. You can pick and choose the best aspects of your RV insurance policy for your needs, but it’s important to have 3 basic coverage items. To protect you and your RV, liability coverage, comprehensive and collision coverage and full-timer’s coverage are all necessary minimum requirements. With these types of coverage, you can enjoy your free time knowing that you’re protected against some of the most common mishaps

If you need to have RV Insurance, be sure to get the right plan. Please visit http://rvinsurance.life-labs.org to find the best ones.

For those that aren’t ready to buy a new car yet but want to add the excitement of driving with more power and performance, an air intake may be the answer. A performance air intake replaces the maze of plumbing between the engine and where your car brings in outside air. This includes the restrictive factory accordion looking hose that many factory intakes use. The factory intake plumbing is removed and in its place a high flow performance air filter and an aerodynamic intake tube are installed. How does a performance air intake create this mystery power? The performance air intake greatly reduces restriction that robs your car of power and torque. Less restriction means more power. It’s really that simple. Many performance air intake designs also include a heat shield that aids in directing cooler outside air toward the air filter.

Are you intimidated by yanking parts from under your hood? Installing a performance air intake is much easier than you would think. If you can change your air filter you can probably install an air intake. Most of them can be installed with basic tools in an hour or so. Take a look at the intake manufacture’s website and read the installation instructions to see what you are getting into before you buy. Also some manufacturers post installation videos so you can watch to see what is involved. Take advantage of the information that is available online.

Before you run out and buy an air intake you need to make sure it will be street legal in your state. California requires an air intake have a CARB exempt decal for your make and model in order to be street legal. A few other states have also adopted this requirement, however, most have not. If you live in California or in one of the other states that requires a CARB exempt decal, go to the air intake manufacture’s website and check to see if the intake for your vehicle is CARB exempt. If it isn’t you may have problems during your next under-the-hood state inspection. Find an air intake that is CARB exempt or wait to see if the air intake gets a CARB exemption. Reputable manufactures submit their intakes to CARB for exemption status but the process can sometimes take a year or more.

Alright you are sold on the concept, now how do you choose an air intake? Take a look at air intakes from established manufacturers that have been around for years. Several manufacturers publish the power gain you can expect and one company has a HP guarantee. Quality is important! You don’t want to buy an air intake that uses a cheap import air filter. Some of these are made to look like a quality filter but they filter dirt like a screen door. If you go with an established manufacturer like K&N or AEM you will get a quality product with a million mile or lifetime warranty. If the manufacture doesn’t stand behind their product more than a year, stay away!

Once installed your vehicle’s computer will adjust to the new air flow and your car will feel like it has new life when you hit the gas pedal. The sound of your car will have a little more roar when you pass as you can hear the free flowing air enter the engine. It will take a few months for the smile to wear off your face and by then you would never consider driving without a performance air intake!
Mike Garner manages news, video and product content at AEMIntakes.com. Visit www.AEMIntakes.com to find a performance AEM air intake for your car or truck.

It isn’t really a complicated process to do an electric car conversion, it is well within the reach of an average do it yourself enthusiast or any person who does his own car repairs, even if he is not a professional mechanic.

You will need a good set of instructions and have to obtain certain specialized parts, but they are widely available just about anywhere.

Your first consideration is the vehicle that you will do your electric car conversion with. Any vehicle can be converted, but some work better than others.

The best candidates are small cars and trucks as they are light and strong. Try to find the lightest vehicle that will still do the job of transporting you and whatever cargo you want to carry around.

You will want to start with a good looking solid vehicle, as obviously an electric car conversion will not improve its looks, or overcome any other mechanical problems, except for the engine, which will be replaced.

If the engine still runs good you can sell it and help pay for part or all of the conversion, which is surprisingly affordable.

Second, you will want a large DC motor that will produce the power for your electric car. The larger the motor, the more power your electric car will have.

Many people have the wrong impression that electric cars are slow, actually they accelerate as fast as any vehicle on the road, and can easily travel at 50-60 mph.

There are certain places where you can find inexpensive or even free DC motors for your project. AC motors can be used as well but they are more expensive, and the DC motors are also easier to install.

You can, of course buy all these parts brand new, but this is the heaviest cost of the whole project so we suggest using the sources of free or inexpensive DC motors.

Next you will need batteries, you will need to locate about 20 deep cycle batteries for your car. A deep cycle battery is similar to the lead acid battery used in a car, with the exception that they are designed to be repeatedly discharged by as much as 80 percent of their capacity.

A regular battery will soon fail under this strain. The reason you will need 20 batteries is to achieve a range of around 150 miles or more, which is more than adequate for everyday use. There are places where you can find inexpensive or even free batteries.

Finally you will need a controller, battery charger, adaptor kit and various other small parts. A controller is needed to fix the amount of current flowing from the batteries to the motor which determines how fast you go.

The controller is usually connected to your old gas pedal for smooth control of the vehicle. An adaptor joins the motor to the transmission and is another specialized part you will need.

An on board battery charger is best for recharging your batteries, that way you can simply plug it into any common AC circuit and get charged up again. You can opt to just keep an external charger at home if you want, even though it is not as convenient to use and limits your recharge options.

After you have the parts you need it is just a matter of putting it all together. There are many manuals to guide you through the process, but there is a reason that one of them is a top seller.

It not only has the schematics and instructions to guide you through the process, It reveals, and has links to the places where you can find affordable, or even free parts for your electric car conversion.

Why pay thousands for an electric car, when you can build your own for a shockingly low price. Get more information about this amazing Conversion Guide, today.

Are you ready to start working on your own car? It is an appealing idea considering the cost and time involved in taking your vehicle to a repair shop. But following the instructions in a repair manual can be more complicated than you may think. This article will answer some of the common questions about working from a repair manual and hopefully allow you to be better prepared for your repair job.

One issue is whether you are physically equipped to perform the procedures in your repair manual. For light jobs there shouldn’t be a problem but some repairs involve heavy lifting, applying torque, and other actions requiring physical strength. Be realistic about whether you can complete the repair, do your research, and you should be fine.

Another key issue is whether using a repair manual to do your own repairs is really going to be cheaper at all. Most of the time this is the case but for some jobs you will find that the procedure instructs you to use special tools you have never heard of. These tools can be pricey and in some cases are only available from a factory dealer (extremely expensive). Before you start taking your car apart you should thoroughly read the relevant repair info and make sure there is nothing cost-wise that will keep you from completing the job.

By far the most important question is whether you can get hurt doing your own repairs. The answer is yes. Even simple repairs can sometimes be very dangerous and it is necessary to familiarize yourself with all available safety precautions. Follow the precautions carefully!

Now you know the answers to the most common questions I receive about working on your own car using a repair manual. DIY repairs can be very rewarding as long as you know what you are doing. Have fun and be safe!

For most drivers, getting their vehicle repaired can often be a stressful time. When many people think of auto repair shops, they often think of scoundrels who will try to milk them for as much money as they can. Fortunately, good and honest auto body repair shops are easy to find. You just have to know what to look for and what questions to ask when researching auto shops.

The following are a number of tips on what to look for in an auto body repair shop:

1. One place to search for information about an auto repair shop is to check online. The internet is a great source of finding the history of an auto repair shop. You can go to such sites as the Better Business Bureau, a consumer report site, and Angie’s list, to see if there is a history of complaints. As well, you can also find reviews of auto repair shops written by customers.

2. Before you have a problem with your vehicle, visit a number of auto repair shops to assess the shop. Look for cleanliness, proper lighting that allows mechanics to see small dents and such, and if the mechanics have licenses and certifications. Do you see any special awards? Does the equipment look current and well maintained? As well, you can talk to the employees to assess their professionalism.

3. When you are at an auto shop, look at the vehicles that they have worked on. Are there good paint jobs? Are all the panels aligned correctly? You should talk to the mechanics to find out what they do if you are unhappy with the repair work. Will the mechanic repair a problem they did not fix the first time at no charge? Or, will there be extra fees? How long is the warranty? How long will it take for the repairs to be completed? Ask about their fees and if they get quality parts.

After you have your car returned from repair, make sure you exam it right away to make sure repair was done and look for anything unusual or does not seem right. If you do find something wrong, take it back to the auto repair shop right away. Take the car for a test drive to listen for any unusual sounds or something not working properly. As well, before the mechanic starts working on your vehicle, make sure they know how much you are willing to pay and if they find something else that is wrong, they should call you to tell you and how much it will cost to fix.

There are many honest and professional auto shops out there.
If you need to have your car’s transmission overhauled, it’s a bad idea to do it yourself. The same is true with replacing the engine, master cylinder, or head gasket. There are some repairs that are best left in the capable hands of an experienced auto technician. If you make a mistake while trying to perform them, you can injure yourself or cause damage to your vehicle.

Having said that, there are plenty of small automotive problems you can fix in the privacy of your garage. For example, you should be able to swap out the battery, spark plugs, and headlight bulbs. With a little practice and confidence, you might be able to replace the timing belt and fuel filter. In this article, I’ll provide a quick-start guide for getting your hands dirty with your own auto repairs.

Perform Easy Jobs First

If you have little to no experience in fixing car problems, rein in your aspirations. You may think you can easily remove and clean your vehicle’s engine, but doing so will likely cause more harm than good. Begin with the simple items first. Change a windshield wiper blade. Swap out the battery. Replace the hoses and air filter. Accomplishing these easy jobs will not only provide valuable experience, but it will dramatically raise your confidence level.

Buy The Proper Equipment

Invest in high-quality tools. Spend a few extra dollars to buy a durable jack on which to raise your car. Buy vice grips, screwdrivers, and a set of pliers. You’ll also need to invest in a set of durable socket wrenches that includes several sizes and lengths. Purchase a set of box wrenches, too.

Try to plan the individual steps of the job ahead of time in order to make sure you have the necessary tools. The last thing you want is start dismantling your car only to discover that you don’t have the right equipment to finish the repairs.

Buy A Manual And Find A Mentor

Before you begin a repair job for the first time, consider buying a shop manual. It will include far more detail than you’re likely to find in your service manual or online. This is especially important for working on important parts, such as your engine or transmission.

Also, try to find someone who has completed the type of job you’re trying to perform. Ask that person if you can watch them do it. If you jump into a repair job without having watched someone else do it first, you’re likely to do it incorrectly. By observing someone else perform it, you’ll familiarize yourself with the process.

Lastly, if you do something wrong and cause a problem you don’t know how to rectify, swallow your pride and take your vehicle to a mechanic. Be honest with him. He’s going to notice your handiwork when he looks under the hood anyway.

Learning to successfully fix automotive problems comes with time. Don’t be afraid to admit defeat; it’s often the best way to learn from your mistakes. Before long, you’ll be able to perform minor car repairs with confidence and proficiency.

So you have decided that you are going to tackle that nagging repair job this weekend. You did the same job on your previous vehicle, and you are thinking that maybe you will just “wing it” this time without a repair manual. You should think about this carefully, because this decision can have serious implications both for your likelihood of success and for your physical safety.

Even if you know the gist of what you need to do, you can’t take for granted the information that you are not going to have available to you if you wing it. Even small repairs often require exact torque specifications or special tool numbers. If you wing it, you are going to have a sloppy repair job at best, and an unsafe one at worst. Some of the most common areas for DIY repair are also critical to safe driving, such as your brakes, steering, and suspension. If you mess up working without a manual, you can put yourself or your family at risk.

You also can’t take for granted the fact that the procedure is not going to be exactly the same as it was for your previous vehicle, and you may find yourself working on a completely different setup. Common repairs like brake jobs can involve distinctly different systems, for example disk brakes as opposed to drum brakes. You can do a hundred brake jobs on cars with disk brakes, but you will be no closer to having the experience necessary to work on drum brakes without using a repair manual.

Depending on your level of experience, you may only need limited use of a manual. And if you are doing something like replacing an air filter or changing your oil, then by all means, you probably do not need a repair manual. For those who don’t fit either of these scenarios, please tread carefully if you decide to skip the repair manual and “wing it” on your repair job.

When it comes to choosing a toolkit for doing your own auto repairs the choice is virtually endless. Do you go with something cheap and hope it lasts the distance or do you go with something middle of the range in the hope that it will be up to the task or go all the way to the expensive top of the range stuff?

The majority of do-it-yourselfers would probably go with the first option and get what they can for the least money as possible and rightly so, after all who has the money to spend on tools that might not get used all that often? The problem with this choice is that by using the cheapest possible tools you may end up having to shell out more than the toolkit cost you in the first place!

Let me explain, cheap tools are not known for either their strength or their ability to fit the object very well that you are trying to remove. The worse case scenario is that the tool will either break and you will have to look for a replacement or the nut, bolt or screw that you are trying to remove will get rounded off and require some specialized tools to remove.

Going with the middle of the range toolkit has it’s advantages. Often with the brands that you will encounter in this range like Sidchrome, KC Tools etc they will offer a replacement guarantee. If you do happen to break one of their tools there shouldn’t be any problems getting a replacement free of charge.

Also the feel and fit of the tools is so much better when you step up from the cheap and nasty sets. Although you may only use your tools a couple of times a year, the extra spent on a name brand or middle of the range set will pay for itself time and time again when you don’t have the dramas that come from using inferior tools. Plus you can always use them on odd jobs around the house and have confidence that they are up to the job.

Top of the range tools such as the range from Snap-On for instance can get very, very expensive. If you are running an automotive repair business then these are the types of tools that are worth investing in but for the diy people that work on their cars on the weekends it really isn’t necessary to go this far. Having said that the construction, the materials, the way the tools feel in the hand and the way they fit what you are trying to remove is just sensational! Overkill yes, but very nice none the less.

After chronic back pain put an end to Craig’s workshop days he turned his hand to website content writing. You can see his latest project on Cheap Gas Scooters where he discusses the pros and cons of a Fast Gas Scooter.
