In the beginning, Action Fiberglass & Manufacturing Limited was established in 1980. Initially, Action, known then as Atlantic Winnebago Kaps, imported shells from the U.S. and assembled them in its facility in Dieppe, New Brunswick.

In the early 1980’s, Action began manufacturing it’s own truck caps in Moncton, New Brunswick and concentrated on expanding it’s product line to include truck bed liners and later further increased it’s line of products and began to distribute a wide variety of light truck and car accessories through Action Truck Caps & Accessories retail outlets in Atlantic Canada. The word legendary is thrown around far too often by people. Every so often, however, the term is appropriate. In the case of the Toyota Truck of the 1980s, the title certainly was. The good news is Toyota seems to realize it and recently revealed a Toyota Truck Concept vehicle that was essentially an early 1980s Toyota Truck!

The Toyota Truck of the 1980s was so iconic that it didn’t even need a fancy name. No, it was just “the truck.” The truck was great because it was actually a compact truck and had reliability that simply was amazing. The key was the 22R engine that just ran and ran and ran and well, you get the idea. The truck is still seen driving around everywhere you look. Playing in advance, Lexus presented the next generation of the RX Suv at Los Angeles car show that will arrive to the market in June 2009. Changing the design of the headlights and the muzzle, with much more imposing grille and bumper.

The rear is more squared and cornered then the previous model, but the shape of the trapezoidal headlights helps make the line more slender. There are some changes that even more evident: the inclination of the pavilion and new lines of side windows make the RX 450h a cleaner version. (more…)

Mercedes took advantage of being the last automaker to show their new vehicles on Wednesday’s Press Day, by wrapping three of them in Christmas presents and unveiling them one by one.

The first, and the most important gift was the official introduction of the Mercedes GLK, the automaker’s all-new, small sport/utility vehicle. Handsome, with chiseled lines and a boxy look, the GLK may seem out of place during these days of avoiding all things SUV. Mercedes indicated as much, but stressed that the GLK is the perfect transition vehicle from the big SUV that their competitors sell (think Cadillac Escalade) to something that is smaller and more responsible.
