Drive safe in winter!

Winter is a season of fun and frolic. When some people chose to hibernate, some others enjoy skiing, snowboarding, snowball fight and the list goes on. Winter camps happen in prime snow localities and this make people travel long distances during winter. Just because winter is fun, that doesn’t limit it from being unsafe. Lot of deaths happen every year because of snow fall and related climate changes. What happens on the road is not all that different. Avalanches, snow rain and road accidents are the prime causes of death in winter. Surprised? Yes car accidents.

Recent statistics shows that every hour 4 people die of car accidents. People who suffer from sustained injuries are even more than death statistics. It could be faulty vehicle, fault of the driver, or may be fault of others on the road. Recent studies by Canadian Traffic Safety Foundation show that 90 % of the accidents could be avoided. Another study shows that majority reasons of accidents are alcohol, negligence and reckless driving. Young drivers are another source of accidents, since they are inexperienced and drive irresponsibly. (more…)
