When we plan a trip in our RV we tend to think about all of the good aspects of the upcoming adventure. Where we are going, what we’ll do when we get there, and all of the things we will see and experience along the way. What we don’t really think about is what if something happens during the trip and everybody needs to exit the RV in a hurry. What if there is a fire? What if the entry door is blocked and you can’t get out. What’s the plan? Is there a plan?
I don’t want to worry anybody. My intent is to bring awareness to the possibility that something like this could happen, so you can discuss it and be prepared in the event of an emergency. An RV emergency escape plan is just one of those things lots of folks don’t think about. (more…)
It is so easy to be attracted by beautiful images of North Cyprus with its sandy beaches, clear azure blue sea, picturesque mountains full of water springs and caves to be found and vibrant cities with their markets full of aromatic spices.
If you are one of those who could not resist the images of your dream holiday and decided to explore the island yourself, make most out of it and hire a car. Only by hiring a car you can become independent of public transport and taxis, which are often more expensive and explore all those places in North Cyprus which you saw on photographs and many more. We all know the potential damage caused by leaving a vehicle outside in all weathers. Would you leave your car out on the street when you can put it safely in the garage? For some reason cars seem to get special attention though, whereas taking care of caravans often gets forgotten about. Yet caravans are just as susceptible to damage as cars, and so need an equal amount of care and attention; failure to do so just means paying more for repairs and earning less when it comes to selling it.
Even finding somewhere to store your caravan during the winter months is not sufficient though, as the rain that falls in April contains the same acids as the rain that falls in December. Leave that rain water to build up on your caravan for too long and the deterioration soon starts, along with a probable development of sludge and green algae on the roof. (more…)
